Blue smoke issue...

My wife's 2.0i DOHC Ford Granada (Scorpio MKI) have reached 100,000+ miles since we brought it 5 years ago with 54,500 miles on the clock. The 5W/30 Full Syntheic (group III)engine oil and Ford O.E.M. oil filter were change at every six months.
In the last few months blue smoke where coming out of the exhaust pipe and my friend suggested to have the Seals (hydraulic tappets) replacement done, but first I thought I will try Auto-RX with Mineral 10W/30 engine oil - www.auto-rx.com/pages/sealleak.htm and I am glad I did because it's stopped within about under 300 miles, just in time to have the M.O.T. emissions test which passed with flying colours!
Thanks goodness for Auto-RX !

I think Blue Smoke usually points to the rings, looks like auto-rx cleaned things up.

This is what I thought too, but it is the Seals, the Pistions Rings were fine as had some test carried out......i.e. M.O.T. (smoke visible) hold and rev the engine at 2,500 rev for 20 sec, after 20 sec let it idle, - no smoke, rev again, no smoke. Switch off engine for a couple of minutes, start engine, blue smoke.
It's not smoking at start up anymore and it  looks like Seals have re-sit itself again via Auto-RX cleaning, M.O.T. emissions - pass.
Well done Auto-RX!
