"ARX Works if You Work Its"

I've read several times over at BITOG that Auto-RX works if you work it. I've always interpreted that to mean that ARX works best when the engine is being driven with it fully warmed up and for extended durations. Accordingly, I started this clean cycle on my car by changing the oil and filter, and adding ARX to the engine just before a trip which took the car over 900 miles in only three days. I believe I saw some improvment in mpg and oil burning during this trip. I'll know more with time and after completing the rinse phase. Here is my question . . .

Is it just as important to the rinse phase (as it is to the clean phase) to drive the car on extended trips with the engine hot? I'm guessing this isn't as vital for the rinse phase as it is for the clean phase. Am I correct?

Thanks,
Bryan

I believe that your biggest results will be found in the clean cycle. It takes 20-30 minutes of driving before the oil is up to it's normal operating temperature. This is why longer trips are more desirable over shorter ones.

That is what I'm thinking, too. Thanks for the confirmation. -Bryan

750 miles into the cleaning phase I filled up and calculated the fuel economy. 18.5 mpg with no change in fuel brand or driving habits/route! My average mileage is around 16 mpg. Just for kicks, I bled out a quart of oil for inspection and its coal black. I can't wait to see what it looks like after the second half of the cleaning phase is over!

In my reading of past arx posts, the way arx works best is if you FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Arx has worked for you because you are following the directions. I don't understand people that drain thier arx cleaning oil at 400 miles or add an oil additive that will obviously add length/hinder the cleaning effectiveness to the cycle. Time after time I see Frank saying to people like this, "Go to the website and follow the directions" etc.

I hope your cleaning cycle continues to progress.
