I have inherited my father's 1968 Mercedes-Benz 250 SE Sedan (white) only 100,300 miles. Immaculate condition. Since I am 65, I would like to keep this car going. My plans are to AUTO-RX the engine. Then use XADO engine treatment. Then use MOTORSILK in the engine. Anybody out there have any experience along this line.?
that is cool, take pics. I'd consider using an ARX MDose and fully synthetic after your cleaning treatment. I just think that's the best way to protect your engine as opposed to doing other treatments that just add lubrication additives that may or may not have long term benefits or problems. The great thing about arx is the chemistry, you know what it does and it's time proven. It's a slow safe cleaner that has no detergents and is completely safe for any car. Add that to the fact that synthetic is the best thing you can do for long term lubrication, and you have a powerful one two punch that you know will not do any harm. Just my opinion.
All you need is to Auto-Rx your engine and when done go to the Auto-Rx maintenance plan (3 ounces of Auto-Rx every oil change) it's safer-performs better-you never have to clean your engine again. You keep your compression-combustion gains same as right after cleaning. Plus your not changing the viscosity of your oil.
shelby likes Autorx - THANKS! I assume you mean by "Mdose" M-meaning Mega-dose. If this is what you mean, like are you saying twice as much as normal. Any comment on other stuff I mentioned. Rocky

After cleaning your engine with Auto-Rx why would you need another product just use the 3oz maintenence dose and drive on.

I assume that you are not going to use this sweetheart as a daily driver. So after completeling the two cleaning and rinses, I would run the 3 fluid ounce maintenance dose, likely with dino. I say dino because it is likely that you may be changing out oil based on length of time as opposed to mileage.
Although I am not certain, but the old seals in this unit might not be fully compatible with modern synthetic oils. Don't think they existed back in 1968.
