So do people who did a 1500 mile clean and 2000 mile rinse (2X) need to do a third clean and rinse using the updated inst? I am on the ARX maint. plan, so maybe that is all that is needed?

Donald your fine results will match just take more time. Engine performance gains will come with 2nd or 3rd Auto-Rx maintenance aplication.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I'm about to finish the rinse phase (Castrol GTX) recommended by the original instructions. My plan was to switch back to Mobil 1 and go on the maintenance plan. Do I need to extend the rinse?

I started the application at 76,500, and ran the cleaning phase for 1500 miles. At 78,000 miles I started the rinse phase, planning to switch back to synthetic oil at 80,000. The truck has run on Mobil 1 5w-30 for the past 20,000 miles (5000 mile OCI), before that it was Castrol GTX 5w-30 (3000 mile OCI). My driving is mainly highway. I always "felt" that the motor was clean (based on the OCI's, and oil quality) , and used Auto RX as a preventative measure.
