New Guy, Two Cars, One Question
Permalink

Hello everyone.

I have been meaning to try Auto-RX for several months now.  Money is tight, as always, but I am due for an oil change soon in my two Firebirds, so I'd like to bite the bullet and see what this product can do for me.

Both cars have about 130k miles on them.  Both run fine, although I am curious about potential mpg gains and one car has an oil leak that will be a pain to fix (have to pull engine to remove pan).

Given a guy with a budget, does it make any sense for me to buy just two bottles of Auto-RX, dump them into my existing oil in each car, drive for the cleaning phase, and monitor results?  I see from the application data that ideally, I'd buy three per car, but I can't afford that at the moment.

Thanks for your time.

Dave

Save up some coin, you'll be putting at least 2000/2500 miles on each car before adding more Auto RX.

split the difference & buy 2 per car.

I understand that buying more would be ideal. I guess what I am wondering is whether one bottle per car will yield any result so that I can then feel justified in my expenditure, and buy more? I'm a teacher at a small private school...dropping $80 on ANY product is significant for me.

Well you can buy two bottles then wait a month and still not have the product delieved!! That's what I did. Wow Auto-RX you fixed all of my problems. In fact your product is so good you don't even have to use it! Just tossing $30 in the crapper fixes your car!

I believe it's somewhat going to depend on the condition of your vehicle. I know in a couple of instances where you could tell a difference right away - within 100 miles . The engines ran smoother and were more responsive.

If your engine consumes oil I think you'll probably see a reduction with just one treatment.

If you have a rotating seal leak you should see some improvement, although don't expect the leak to stop until you've gone through a second application.

We guarantee Auto-Rx To Work most people really follow the application and get results they want & need.

Where are you getting the price in your post above for two bottles?

Hi Frank,

When I mentioned the $80 above, it was not for two bottles, but four, since one member suggested I get two per car. I know that on the site here the bottles are about $19-22 each.

I think I am going to take one car off the road for the winter, to save it from the salt and to save on insurance. So, for now, I'll just worry about doing one car and doing it right.

How many bottles, then, for a daily driver with 132k miles, no obvious engine problems?

Thanks for your time. I'd like to get the oil changed within the next week and a half.

Well, I ordered two bottles to use on one car last night. I'll make my results here known, if there are any measurable/noticeable ones to report.

Well, I got home from work early today and did an oil change on my '95 Formula. Oil was black as tar, but then again it usually is when I change it on any car. I've got my Auto-RX in there, and will change the oil again at 3,000 miles for my rinse stage. I'm excited to see what happens.

After I dumped in the contents of the Auto-RX bottle, I filled it up about 3/4 with fresh motor oil, swished it around, and then dumped that in my engine, too. That way, I get every last drop of Auto-RX ;)

Bull,

Thank you for using ARX. keep us up dated on your results. With over 130K on the engine are you planning on doing 2 cleanings?

Daryl, maybe I will. That would use two bottles, correct? One bottle for first cleaning, then change oil and filter without adding anymore RX, then rinse, then add second bottle for second cleaning etc.?
