My crankcase capacity is 3.8 qts. With fiter change the capacity goes to 4 qts total. I just finished draining the oil and changing the filter. I have put in 3 qts of oil. I need to know how much A-R to add. I seem to recall reading the dosage of A-R was no more than 2 oz per qt of oil. Sorry for stupid questions, but I am extremely anal and want to things right. thanks for any help.
Do I fill the crankcase with 4 qts of oil and then add A-R, or do I reduce the amount of oil by the number of oz of A-R. I know. I am stupid bit need to know.
From memory ( so someone correct me if I'm wrong ) the latest instructions call for you to use the entire bottle. At this time of year I first warm the ARX to a comfortable room temperature before taking it outside. I would add your first three quarts of oil, then ARX, then use what ever might be needed out of the fourth quart of oil to bring things up to the full mark on the dipsick.
Here is the warning given on the oil filler cap of my Passat: "To avoid damage to catalytic converter oil must not exceed maximum mark"
Thanks for the info. I measured out 24 oz of oil and added 8 oz of A-R and dumped the oil in on top. ran it for 10 min to mix and check for leaks. all done. the clock has started. ARvis has left the bottle.
