Auto Rx and Havoline Deposit Shield

I posted a while back that I ran the Auto-Rx thru my 91 Bronco and the rinse oil came out like new. Well, I don't put many miles on the old girl but after the Havoline DS rinse, it got yet another run of Havoline 5w-30 DS and the oil came out a honey color. Now I fully understand that the color means next to nothing but the last oil change and i went back to the Rotella T 15w-40 and the oil turned to black paint in the first 500 miles. No engine malfunctions, it runs great and the fuel mileage is up by 1.1 mpg since the Auto-Rx. My assumption is that maybe the Havoline DS is not a good oil for the rinse phase. Anybody else have issues like this or am I the only lucky one?

I do not know about the Havoline oil, but any oil you use for the rinse phase should be a Group III oil like Wal-Mart Super Tech, meaning the oil should cost less than $3.00 a quart, if the oil is a Group IV oil it will not work well, something like the oil bonding to the contaniments, during the rinse phase my oil came out a honey color but my filters were heavy and the oil that came out of the filters was dark, with your oil turning black in the first 500 miles this could mean that the stuff in there meaning the crud was very hard and it took another rinse where the crud was finally loose enough that it started to flow through the engine, remember Auto-Rx works slowly, it took me over 12K worth of driving to stop having filter issues, good luck.
