Finished Auto-Rx application for Turbo 350 Transmission

I ran 6 ounces of Auto-Rx in my transmission for 2000 miles, I drained my pan that holds 6 quarts, it came out dark not bright red like it usually does when I change the fluid, I added 6 quarts and went for a 30 mile run and trans definetly shifted better, came home and drained another 6 quarts and trans fluid was dark again, dropped pan, it had black sludge or discolorization on bottom of pan, filter was not clogged, it is the screen type, put new filter on as well as new transmission pan, will take car to work tomorrow to see how she runs, even with using synthetic trans fluid all these years it still had junk inside, did not take cooler lines off as my Dad did not want trans fluid all over the place, may take it up to this old gas station and disconnect lines out back behind the building, will probably drain fluid again soon to see how much stuff is still floating around, my transmission holds 11 quarts plus 3 extra for the previous deep pan, have gone through 12 quarts and will be adding 4 more quarts to the transmission, any advice would be appreciated, as has been stated about Auto-Rx for transmissions it does not clog up the filter it just keeps the junk in suspension in the fluid, I believe this process is better than the BG Flush where they put in a can to clean transmission for 20 minutes, will take some temp readings and let everyone know how it goes, this is a win win situation for any skeptics out there.

Brent thanks for your detailed post. I would like to suggest that you add 6 ounces of Auto-Rx(for 1000 miles dump-no rinse mode for transmissions) and go to a shop that will use a calibrated machine to flush out all liquid ,including whats been hiding in the torque converter.

GoodYear- Shell - Jiffy Lube. all have equiptment.

Your seeing first hand the dedigration of synthetic oil additive package. When you refill you can safely use a low cost non synthetic transmission fluid.

Frank, car is shifting great will add 6 more ounces and do a flush, it is amazing how much junk Aut-rx gets out, one other concern did Auto-Rx on my power steering and flushed it is still making a whining sound will try to tighten belt and see what happens, dont know if with so many miles maybe another auto-rx treatment on power steering.

Not the belt it is clean hydraulic oil (ps fluid) lubricating unit . Twist steering wheel left to right-right to left a few times noise will go as ps fluid gets on patrs. Drive on.

Frank, I was kind of thinking the same thing, the noise is a groaning sound, guess with all the miles on car there was so much junk that the hydraulic oil is taking its time to get to the metal that was coated in crud

WELL, THE CAR WAS A LITTLE BIT LOW ON TRANS FLUID AND POWER STEERING FLUID, ADDED some and noise went away, also had an exhaust pipe that was almost touching the car underneath, got that isolated and away from underneath, so no more groaning noise, car is running graeat, feels like I have a new transmission now, will keep everyone posted.

I have to appologize, looked at my old posts and realized that I left Auto-Rx in my transmission for about 4000 miles, guess I was so concerned about my oil filter issues that I did not keep track of mileage, because of this I have not added a second dose of Auto-Rx to my transmission, I no it might be hard to believe but this transmission feels better and shifts better than my new car, it feels like a brand new trans, the car is quicker than it was before, no delayed shifts, the car just takes off, I am afirm believer that in order to receive the full benefits of Auto-Rx you need to do a treatment in your transmission as well as your engine before Auto-Rx in my trans engine had power but the engines rpm's would go up a little and then shift, shifts are now more precise, also before using Auto-Rx in trans I took a temp with the infrared gun aimed at the torque converter, the temp was usually between 155 and 165 degrees, now the temp at the torque converter is 135 degrees, but 3 some things have changed when I took the reading today it was 30 degrees outside, I also put Amsoil synthetic transmission fluid, I also changed my transmission pan to a Derale Pan that has cooling tubes in the bottom of the pan to let air pass through and cool the fluid, Derale claims a trans temp drop up to 50 degrees less than ordinary pans, maybe too all the junk that was in suspension was before causing a restriction in the flow of the transmission fluid, ironically too when I dumped the container at the recycling center that I had my old trans fluid in it was remarkably heavy meaning that the crud in my trans was worse than I thought, before doing this in my trans the shifting when the engine was cold would be kind of sluggish, now when I start out the shifting and get up and go is just as good whether the engine is warm or cold, wondering if I should do an Auto-Rx treatment on my differential, then I might have to invest in better brakes, since brake fluid is hydraulic, I think, would Auto-Rx work with brake fluid, will keep everyone posted.

When I added the transmission fluid I added 4.5 quarts and then drove, I checked it twice and had to add another quart and a half maybe they was so much junk in there that it was taking the place of my trans fluid or auto-rx cleaned everything out that more trans fluid is going to where it needs to be and that is why I had to add more. I may drain the pan on Thursday or Friday to see how the color of the fluid is to see if I may have to do another flush.

DON'T PUT AUTO-RX IN BRAKE FLUID . WE NEVER RAN ANY TEST HAVE NO DATA AND DON'T WANT ONE OF OUR MOST DILIGENT POSTERS TO EXPERIMENT.

Frank, last night I drained 4 quarts of transmission fluid and it was a dark red color, obviously some cleaning still going on, reason I have not done T-Tec is that every place in my area wants $120.00 and I have heard that disconecting cooler lines does not always get old fluid out some fluid is still in torque converter because when the trans fluid flows some goes into the pan and cooler and some goes into the converter, when I did disconnect the trans line it flushed out about the same fluid as draining and became clear in color quickly, so far have gone through 12 quarts of fluid and will be adding 4 more quarts tonite, wondering if trans fluid is totaly flushed that maybe some cleaning is still going on and that is why fluid is turning dark, after I add 4 more quarts and drive how long should I drive and dump the pan again, I think there is a trans fluush that connects to your trans pump to pump out all the old fluid, but with so many miles on trans I am wondering if pan drops over time would be better, any advice would be appreciated, will post tomorrow night to let everyone know how transmission is doing.
