A quick question

I have a 1995 Lexus Gs300 with around 161k miles. When I purchased the car it had around 135K, so I have no clue of how the previous owners maintained this car. Here is what I have done with the tranny so far
1) Couple of months ago, I drained the fluid and re filled it with new fluid, keep in mind this was not a complete drain(T-Tech) The fluid that came out was Pitch Black and the car did shift much better.Only 4 Quarts were put back into the car so I know there is a lot of older fluid remaining. I also added half a bottle of Lucas Transmission Fix as well

So here is the question, should I
a) Add 6 oz of Auto-Rx to the existing fluid and get it drained(T-Tech) after 1500 miles
or
b) Get the fluid drained(T-tech) and then add 6OZ of Auto-Rx, run it 1000 miles and get it drained again via T-Tech method

Thanks again

I asked a similar question to Frank (inventor/owner of ARX) before with the Miss's 91 Civic.  I had a mixture of Marvel Mystery Oil and ATF and I wanted to do a ARX treatment in the tranny.  Frank said it would be best for me to change the tranny fluid and put in fresh ATF without any other additives other than ARX since ARX will clean the MMO out of the tranny, then run it 1,000 miles and change the fluid.

I would probably do a T-Tech and change the filter, with the fresh fluid I would then add Auto-Rx and drive 1000 miles and then do another T-Tech, just remember that even with a T-Tech Auto-Rx will still be doing some cleaning so you might have to do a few more pan drops, if your pan has a drain plug great, if not I would get one, I have not heard too many good things about Lucas Transmission Fix, I used it once and did not notice any difference, before I did Auto-Rx on my transmission the fluid was a bright red, with yours being black it sounds like the fluid was never changed or it overheated, since you said it is shifting better you should be fine, good luck?

Thanks,
The fact my tranny fluid was jet black was my main concern, I should get this done within in the next couple of months and ill post up the results as soon as I can.

Thanks,
Ya ive heard the stories about jiffy lube and definitely wont be going over there. I didnt realize how expensive a t-tech is, around 129.99 around my neck of the woods.
can I just drain and fill the tranny again and then add the 60z of auto rx and then do the t-tech? Has anybody here tried it that way?

I just added the Auto-Rx to my trans last summer and drove it, but I was so concerned about my oil filter issue that I left it in there for over 2000 miles, this is what I did, one afternoon I drained the fluid and dropped the pan, it was dark, I had a new pan and I put the filter on, old pan had slime all over the bottom of that pan, put new fluid in, went out that night and when I came home I drained the fluid again, I have a drain plug on mine, it still came out dark, I repeated this process over a couple of weeks, so far I have gone through 28 quarts of transmission fluid, each time I drained the fluid it was less dark, I will be doing another drain this weekend, go to BITOG, they have a Tranny Fluid Change Calculator, I will tell you why I do not like the T-Tech method of getting the trans fluid out, they connect the machine to one of your cooler lines and flush the oil fluid out, the problem is that when the trans fluid goes into your pan half of it goes to the cooler and the other half goes to the Torque Converter so you are really not getting all the old fluid out, sorry about my above post recommending a T-Tech Flush, I have never done a T-Tech Flush so I have no business posting that, I will try to be more careful in the future, now when I did this my trans had 349,000 miles, now my thinking is that even if you got all the old trans fluid out after doing the 6 ounces of Auto-Rx you will still have some in there doing continous cleaning. I also would strongly get a transmission magnet from Filtermag if you have a steel pan to catch any junk floating around. The best transmission fluid machine is actually a Pump Inlet Machine that attaches to your transmission pump inside your pan, they need 20 quarts of fluid and I am sure it is a lot more than a T-Tech procedure, maybe $150.00 to $200.00, I hope this information helps.

Thanks for the Tranny fluid calculator, I think what im gonna do is drain the fluid out around 5-6 times, add the Auto Rx drive it 1500miles and then go the T-Tech route.

I did have one more question regarding the BITOG Tranny fluid calculator. If according to the calculator I needed 8 Changes, or 16 quarts (2qts per drain and fill) do I do this in one setting? or Do i space the drain and fills?
Thanks again
