Just got a bottle of RX yesterday per suggestion from someone on another board. I'm hoping someone can clarify a couple things. I recently changed the oil, but used a high mileage oil, which I now see is not recommended for use with RX. I was planning on the sludge plan. Do I need to rechange the oil to a "regular" type before using the RX or will it not make toooooo much of a difference? I'm eager to see any results, but don't feel like going through another oil change unless it'll really make a difference. Thanks in advance,
You should be ok with the high milage oil for the cleaning phase, when it comes time to do the rinse phase just stick with regular dino oil. Welcome to auto-rx
One other question --- I put very few miles on the car, probably only about 1000-2000 a year, what adjustments, if any, should be made to the recommended intervals for changes, etc?
OK, I changed the oil to WalMart SuperTech brand and added the 12 oz of Auto-Rx. As I mentioned, the engine has gotten a bit noisier of late, though it doesn't lose/burn any oil. Attached a pic I took of the before state. Not sure how inidicative it may be of sludge, but definitely some junk in there. Thanks for the responses.
