The ATF in my '00 Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero (211,500 km/132,188 miles) was always changed using the traditional, drop-the-pan method. The ATF wasn't looking too good, despite being changed roughly 6 months and 10,000 km (6000 miles) ago, and I added half a bottle (6 oz.) of Auto-Rx. It was also just a bit low on ATF for whatever reason, even though there are no leaks.
So far shifting has noticeably improved, and is so much smoother (Frank, your product is truly amazing!). But the transmission shifts are rather harsh at WOT. Presently, it's been 900 km (563 miles) since I added ARX to the ATF. Looking at the ATF, it has darkened quite a bit since.
I plan on doing a T-TEC flush once I hit 2,500 km/1,500 miles (ATF is presently a mix between Gulf Dextron III and Motorcraft Mercon) with Motorcraft Mercon V, and this will be the first T-TEC flush on this vehicle. Would it be advisable to stick to the 1,500 mile interval, or should I flush my ATF ASAP due to the harsher shifting at WOT? If I stick to the 1,500 mile interval, should I top off with some fresh ATF to last another ~1,000 miles? Any guidance will be very much appreciated, thanks a lot! :)
Iwould stay with the ARX instructions. Drive your vehicle for 1,000 miles. If you have used additives drive an additional 500 miles. Thank you for purchasing Auto-Rx.
