Second Application
Permalink

I'm 350 km (219 miles) away from completing the rinse stage of my first application on my '00 Mitsubishi SUV. At my next oil change, I will be using a bottle of ARX to start a second application, as my vehicle's done over 100,000 miles.

I'm thinking about using a flushing machine for my oil change, but thought I'd ask for some input before hand. The way they advertise this service, it changes all the oil in the engine and leaves behind no contaminated oil to mix in with the new, fresh oil - supposedly helping the oil do its job better because it is clean. But the question is, does this machine use any harsh chemicals that may adversely affect what I have acheived through the use of ARX so far? Or would it simply do as its advertised and leave fresh, clean oil in the oil pan? I had bad valve stem seals, and now my vehicle does not puff out any blue smoke whatsoever, thanks to ARX. :)

Just change your oil and start your second application (don,t let anyone sell you an additive to help clean) stay away from flushing machines. Please just folow application.

The flushing machines I've read about use solvents to disolve sludge and contaminents. The service is rather expensive.

When you change your oil some old oil is always left behind. I don't know why this wouldn't also be true when using a flushing machine. Solvents do nothing for lubrication and could have a long term negative impact on seals and gaskets.

Using a flushing machine won't undo the results you've already achieved with ARX. I don't think it would be wise to go that route though. Continue using ARX and you will achieve the results you're after.

Many thanks, gentlemen! I'll just stick with the traditional oil change. :)

Good choice, I talked with this guy that own's a repair place a few years ago and asked him about this, he told me the problem is the harsh solvents can cause bad oil leaks. He told me about a guy who had this done and it ran great for a week and then developed a massive oil leak, something like a quart everyday.

Falcon LS,

Thank you for purchasing ARX. After you finish the 2nd applaction I would start the maintenance program. I use 3oz. this program in all my autos with good results.

Daryl,

Many thanks for the recommendation. I've got 2 more bottles left, and planned on starting the maintenance program when I first started the treatment. It's well worth it, and will keep my engine clean and efficient for a long tme to come. :)
