It is never too early to start with ARX

This is an independent test performed by an individual, using Auto-Rx in a car with only 10,000 miles on the clock.

It is never too early to start with Auto-Rx. A good friend put forth some testing data on running Auto-Rx on a low mileage, yet fairly old model year Honda Civic. I think the points to note are first the mileage gains derived by following the Auto-Rx application recommendations. Secondly the mileage gain is more than paying for the addition of ARX product. Thirdly the emissions data would indicate more efficient combustion lowering emissions in this unit. And lastly getting a nice even compression performance across all four cylinders that will likely lead to a strong motor for years to come.

Currently this car is using 9 gallons less of fuel with each 5000 mile OCI, from its starting point. In his domain that is 35 to forty dollars worth of fuel. His cost of continued use of the maintenance dose of ARX is just less than $5.50.

If you would like to see more info of how ARX has helped 10,000 mile motors break in for maximum performance go to the Auto-Rx site and look at the independent test of the Harley motorcycle V-Twin. That test should open your eyes.

Summary of test results

Vehicle 1999 Honda Civic

Automatic transmission

1.6 liters

Mileage at start 10,101

Engine oil 5w-30 Valvoline conventional oil

Oil filter NAPA Gold

Gasoline Chevron regular, same station same pump for complete evaluation

Mileage over 1,202 miles with no additives, same driver same commute to work 27.1mpg

 note this mileage reflects driving conditions and driving style and does not reflect ultimate

 mileage. On fill the nozzle was removed when it clicked off, no topping off. This method of

filling, same station, same pump and off on click was used on every vehicle.

This vehicle was moved from week end driver to daily driver when gas prices went up.

Smog test done in training mode by a certified smog test only facility by a tech that is licensed to

perform such tests and teach classes for certification.

Complete service was done by licensed independent Honda mechanic before testing.

All fluids and filters were changed, cooling system was flushed.

One bottle of Auto-Rx was poured into an engine and it was taken on 30 mile trip.

First number is low speed, second number is high speed, example 12.1/13.2. This is standard

practice for a California smog test required for most vehicles in California.

Numbers at start done at 10,101 miles

C02       16.5/17.1

02        0.3/0.1

HC(ppm) 11/9

CO       0.17/0.10

NO      301/99

Compression

1=144

2=140

3=138

4=145

27.1 mpg

Then the test began and the Auto-Rx was put into the mix.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end of the clean (3k miles) and rinse (3k miles) the oil was changed every 5k miles.

The Auto-Rx maintenance plan was to add 3 ounces at every oil change.

Numbers at start done at 16,179 miles

C02       14.0/16.1

02        0.1/0.0

HC(ppm) 5/2

CO       0.16/0.05

NO      231/80

There was a drop straight across the board.

Compression

1=155

2=150

3=152

4=155

28.3 mpg

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end of 10k test miles

Numbers at start done at 27,206 miles

C02       13.5/15.1

02        0.0/0.0

HC(ppm) 5/1

CO       0.15/0.03

NO      201/67

There was a drop straight across the board.

Compression

1=160

2=155

3=155

4=157

28.5 mpg

This vehicle reflected a steady improvement in mileage and compression. The trend in

compression was not only an increase but more even compression from highest to lowest.

The improvement in smog numbers was not a big change but was very clearly an improvement in

all areas tested.
