i tried searching here but couldn't find the appropriate subject topic.

when is a good time to start using auto-rx in a new car?

also, with an engine that came from the manufacturer requiring synthetic oil, is it ill advised to use this product?

Not at all Auto-Rx is not a petroleum or solvent based product. It does not change the chemistry of your oil. It iis undectable as all it does is cleans . You can start and stay with the Auto-Rx Maintenance Plan (3) ounces every oil change. In your first change you will see dirt, metal particulates comng out with the oil. From that point forward your engine will stay clean like brand new.

i did the oil and filter change early. the owner's manual recommends the first service at 5000mi, which i was not comfortable with, so i had it done at around 1000mi.

the vehicle has a cartridge-type oil filter, and the media was very dirty and full of particulates. the oil itself was very dark, thick and slow to drain (oem castrol synthetic).

i've been to bobistheoilguy.com, and seen other posts from members with the same vehicle type as i do. the engine has direct-injection, and apparently is well known for high levels of fuel dilution.

i'm going to send an oil sample to a local lab for analysis, but i do not know what to expect. i will be making an appointment soon with the service dept. of my dealership to get a second opinion.

do you think auto-rx would do me any good, or have i uncovered something that indicates serious trouble in the future?

That doesn't look like sludge to me.

It still wouldn't hurt to go on the maintenance dose.

Photos don,t always show clearly what is going on . Your oil analysis will tell you for sure. On another message board there is great praise for a product one level done from paint thinner, I always wonder how many non mechanic type people read that junk and think it is a good guy trying to help his fellow man.
many people posting on other boards are "shills' disguised as just another person trying to help his fellow man.
The truth is he is a rep for that product or has a vested interest in selling it.

Remember Auto-Rx has a money back guarantee and on this board i have to A-take Issue with a post B- refund your purchase price if we can,t make you a happy user.

Thanks For reading, by the way first reader who orders 1 bottle of Auto-Rx today before 3 PM gets a second bottle free.

service advisor looked at the filter and said it was "normal" for new engine in break-in phase.

local lab said they won't be able to do an analysis for 2 weeks at least.

i've since had a new oem filter installed and am now running on 5w30 motul 8100v.
