I am into my second rinse phase , about 870 miles, I was getting blue smoke out of tail pipe upon acceleration but never noticed it following me. Last night after attending a viewing for my aunt, I noticed an extreme amount of blue smoke coming from my tail pipe while sitting at a stop light. I thought ok, ARX is really getting the crap out of my engine. But this time I noticeed that the smoke didn't stop. After getting home I get up this morning and I expect to find that my oil will be a quart low at least from all the blue smoke from last night. Much to my suprise it was almost touching the full mark! I have not replaced the valve stems and seals yet and am waiting to finish the rinse phase before I check the compression. But I must tell everyone that my little saturn SL2 is running quieter, less vibration and more pick-up and quicker acelleration! She has almost 350,000 miles on her and I put on 437 miles a day doing courier work. I was just wondering if the extreme amount of smoke I got is normal, cause this didn't happen during the first clean and rinse phase.
I would guess it is the results of the second cleaning and second rinse mode. When your done the complete application run one 3000 OCI using a Group 111 Oil. Think this annoyance will be gone.
Thanks Frank. I will post what my compression numbers are after this rinse. I think I may still have to do a valve job, which is not unexpected with the high mileage I am putting on the old girl. Your product is amazing and if I still have to have the valve job done at least I know the insides of my engine will be clean!
Well I was finally able to get my compression test done. Wish I had taken a reading before I started the ARX program. Anyway, after two cleaning and rinse cycles my compression numbers are as follows: #1.....190 #2.....140 #3.....190 #4.....196
I rechecked #2 and then poured a capful of oil into the cylinder and rechecked compresion. I got a number of 170. Looks like I will still need to get some rebuild work in. Now I wish I had discovered your product sooner Frank, might have been able to avoid the major overhaul.
