Just change the filter often. Depending on how severe the sludge problem is, you might want to change out the filter every 400-500 miles.
Good luck

jonathangalt,

Strange sounds-blinking gauges all telling you your engine was full of contaminants and Auto-Rx has cleaned off these areas and oil for the first time is lubricating them. These will go away after your done rinse cycle. They do not signify problems.

Like dbdeland said, these will go away either during the rinse phase or afterwards, I would not worry about this, just keep an eye on your oil level and invest in some more cheap oil filters.

I just got finished reading this string. If you have followed application instructions and oil recommendations than all is going to be well. No need for incantations. If you have not read thee FAQ please do so.

I believe so, it cured the moaning in my powersteering, go to the auto-rx main page and look up the APPLICATION for Powersteering.

This product also works great in your transmission and differential.

Keep us posted, and good luck.

Is this car consuming any oil? Smoke out the tailpipe? Or was your oil light the only symptom it has sludge?
