I had my friend do a Clean and Rinse with auto-rx, after the rinse phase was over we added a maintenance dose and with his OLM he was able to go 5500 miles. I changed the oil for him and we did the maintenance dose again, this time he was able to go 7500 miles before the OLM was down to 3% or so.
The only difference this time was that he took the truck from Maryland to Florida and back, it was a 1700 mile round trip. His oil came out very dark.
I am not telling everyone who is doing the auto-rx thing to take a 1700 mile round trip, but if you can take the car out for a long run or maybe a 1 hour highway run too get the car hot this should be beneficial, auto-rx works if you work it, meaning take your car out on a long run if you can.
Good hot oil with continuous good flow will enhance the ARX activity. Road trips are good for cleaning. They also do well at ridding the oiling system from any fuel dilution that may have occurred from alot of real short trip driving.
