I was wondering if anyone here has tried Auto-Rx on a newer volvo with transmission problems. My 2001 V70 (5 speed automatic) has intermittent problems going into 3d gear once the car is warmed up. There is an annoying flare that I am concerned will eventually lead to total failure. I tried replacing the B4 servo cover (known Volvo issue) but the problem is still there. I have used Auto-Rx on my Saab motors with good results. Any chance running the Auto-Rx cycle will fix my Volvo tranny?
I'm not familiar with your Aisin automatic. If your issue is with stuck valves and/or pressure regulation, then it should remove any deposit that's holding things up.
The instructions call for 1000 miles in clean mode than change out transmission fluid and replace with fluid of your choice. Might want to read the application again.
No changes noted in transmission performance after driving 100 miles with the Auto-RX treatment. How long should it take to get results?
When was the last time you changed the trans filter.
You need to give the auto-rx some more time to notice results, this may happen before 1000 miles is up or after you change all of the trans fluid when you reach that 1000 mile mark.
Reached the 1,000 mile mark after adding Auto-RX and it was starting to flare again. Invested in the IPD kit and a case of Mobil 3309. Also bought 4 bottles of global ATF (same as Toyota Type IV) at the local O'Reilly's. Did the flush (took about 1 hour with a helper). I used the global ATF bottles first, followed by the Mobil. The car now shifts really nicely with no flaring, no bumping, no clunking. The first 12 quarts of the flush came out looking like used oil from a 1982 olds diesel (yes, I had one of those and it was great). By quart number 16, the ATF coming out of the dump hose was nice and red. Before giving up on your Aisin geartronic you might want to try this stuff. BTW, there is an error in the instructions that come with the IPD flush kit. The ATF cooler hose to remove is at the top of the radiator NOT the bottom. Also, the dump hose goes into the radiator, NOT onto the ATF cooler hose. Hopes this helps someone else.
