Didn't know if Edge fell under the group III catagory or not. I'm half way through the rinse phase and it's time to change the oil, scored some Edge cheap but thought I'd ask before using it.
I believe this stuff is a Group III oil, but I would check the Castrol website, I am 99% sure that it is a Group II oil.
Castrol site no real help. Did a little googling and If i understand correctly, oils that contain Polyalphaolefins..(which Edge does) are considered group IV. Guess that answers my question, thanks.

I would just go to Wal-Mart or any other auto parts store and pick up the cheapest dino oil you can get your hands on.
Do you have a specific reason to use Edge? If not ..and even if you do, there is some other Group II+ or Group III lubricant that will endure the 3000 mile clean phase at a much lower cost.

Scored the Edge at $3.49 a quart, looks like I'll have to wait until the rinse phase is complete
I was always under the impression that during the rinse phase we should use the cheapest dino oil since it will not compete with auto-rx and it will promote better rinsing of contaniments.
