Auto-RX in a Generation II 2007 Prius?

Hello all. I've used Auto-RX in all my vehicles for a few years now and have been quite pleased.
I just bought a used 2007 Prius hybrid with 50k miles on it and wondered if anyone has ever used Auto-RX in a Prius or any other hybrid.  I did a search on "Prius" with no results......

I know the new 2010's come with synthetic so you wouldn't use it with them, but the 2004-2009 Prius's came with dino oil.

Thanks, Frank

I don't see any reason why ARX wouldn't be helpful even in the newer models running synthetic.

Adding three ounces of Auto-Rx to my new 2010 Prius was one of the first things I did. Three ounces every oil change means I'll never have to run a treatment in it's lifetime. $10 a year I feel is cheap insurance. Plus this initial treatment will clean out any new engine baddies floating around in the oil system.

That's great to know. I started the treatment a few weeks ago.  I did not know you could use Auto-Rx with synthetic.......I seem to remember differently a few years ago.....i'll have to read up on the latest procedures........

After the cleansing phase I plan to switch to synthetic in the Prius.

ALS, Congrats on the new 2010 Prius!

Frank

For maintenance use you can run it with synthetic with no problems.
It is when your doing a cleaning treatment you need to run mineral based oil to rinse the engine.

Since I'm starting with a spotless engine the Auto-Rx maintenance dose could care less what oil is in the engine. This way no sludge or varnish has a chance to attach itself to any metal in the engine.

You should have seen the clunkers engine that I turned in with over 100K miles on it.
It looked brand new under the cap. The car itself had over 370,000 miles on it when I turned it in. When I replaced the engine a few years ago I started it on Mobil 1 and Auto-Rx. When you looked under the cap at over 100K miles it was as clean and shinny as the day it was dropped in. 5K mile oil changes and never had to add any oil between changes.
