ARX in 2004 VW Passat 1.8T

Ive got a VW PAssat 1.8T.  It has about 83K miles on it and three days ago, I got the "STOP Check Oil Press." message.  I was able to get it immediately into an oil change place.  They changed the oil and said I might need an engine flush.  He said there was some sludging but said it didnt look too bad.   I drove for about 2 hours later that day with no problems.

So driving the car yesterday, I drove for about an hour and got within a block of home and got the message again.  I didnt notice any burning oil and didnt hear any strange sounds so I got it home. 

So it is Saturday and I am supposed to drive 5 hours hom for Christmas tomorrow and I am wondering if putting ARX in my engine is a good idea.  My local VW place is closed until Monday. 

Obviously just getting an oil change, my engine is full.  If I add ARX, do I need to drain some of the oil? 

Ive also read online of somthing called a Bilstein Engine Flush.  Is this a worthwhile treatment?
Im just now researching this heavily and I am getting nervous.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

And yes, my car has had regular oil changes but it has been dino 5W-30.  I honestly never knew anything differently since that is what is specified in the manual.

Just add the Auto-RX no need to drain oil out.

Note that this list is "world wide", not just covering what is available in north America.

Go to www.auto-rx.com and click on instructions. Follow the one for sludge (a bilsteen flush is a solvent one i don't think thats what you want) As far as oil use any conventional oil. Sythetic is not an oil to use for sludge and frankly the only reason it is recommended is because it helps keep the engine temp down (due to the design of there cooling system) when you add Auto-Rx to WalMarts Basic oil it will keep the engine cooler than plain synthetic. Last thing read the FAQ

thanks.  I will add 12 ounces (4 qts of oil, just changed two days ago).  that wont cause a problem overfilling?

also, I am worried about any of the "turbo turds" will loosen up from the ARX and get sucked into the oil intake.  does ARX dissolve those?

(im definitely using incorrect terminology above.  apologies)

No. You'll have no issues with the 12oz overfill.

The decoking (removal of carbonaceous formations in areas like rings and turbos) usually evidences itself as a fine grit in your filter. All the binders are weakened and you can reduce it even further with rubbing it between your fingers. Auto-Rx is basically liquefying the stuff binding them together. No mass mudslides or avalanches. They drop to the sump and are too big to make it through the filter.

This is optional, but something you may consider due to there being a bona fide issue here. The decoking usually takes place earlier in the cleaning phase. You may consider changing your filter at around 750-1000 miles.

gotcha. I am definitely ordering some. i searched around and I guess you cant buy this in stores so far as I can tell. so Ill have to do this when I get back after Christmas...
