The motor sounds normal just got a little concerned when both the oil pressure jumped up and the check engine light came on. Since resetting the light it has not re-lit so I think everything is as normal as possible for an engine going thru the cleaning process. I am not sure where the leak is coming from, have not had a chance to spray clean the engine although I did replace the PVC valve just in case. Oil on the dipstick does not look too dark.

At this point I will most likely change the filter (only) at about the halfway point (~1200 miles) and then the oil/RX mixture at 2500 miles.

Auto-RX will definitely get a great testimonial from me if it is able to stop the leak on an engine with as many miles as my wifes Yukon.  I fully realize it is a uphill battle and ultimately may require gasket replacements.

Your email response was greatly appreciated

Dear Pat,

Sometimes oil sending units also give somewhat false reads during the cleaning process. I dont know off hand whether your oil sending unit is located pre-filter or post filter. If it is located prefilter, then restriction in the oil filter will give a high reading and rightfully so. In this case changing out the filter is advisable. If the sending unit location is post filter, then I would say that the sensors are adapting to a cleaner environment. I dont think 70 lbs. is a scary high number. I have a 2000 Silverado that shows 65 lbs. at full operating temperature, at low rpms.

Do you hear any more engine noise coming from the top end of the motor? If so, I would change out the filter, with the possibility of a blind filter and operating in the by pass mode. If the top end of the motor is still as quiet as normal then I would not be too concerned. Also pull the dipstick. If it looks like 4500 mile oil, with only 1000 miles into the treatment, then I would suggest changing out the filter.

With respect to your oil leak, where is it leaking from? Auto-Rx has worked in most cases when crank or cam seals have been compromised from oil related deposits. Rotational seals usually leak due to a build up contaminants on the rotating journal ends, right at the interface of the seal lip. Auto-Rx cleaning with the use of conventional oil can correct these issues or at least severely retard the leakage. The leaks will be cured during the rinsing phase, running conventional oil. Conventional or mineral helps the seal find its original polymer memory, once the contaminants are removed. Auto-Rx has no impact on gasket type sealing, such as oil pan or valve cover gaskets. Those leaks can only be solved by gasket replacement. You should also check your PCV valve for proper operation.

Excess crankcase pressure can be a cause of seal leakage. If you have not replaced it recently, I would recommend it.
