Second time using Auto RX-- as good as ever

I recently purchased a 2006 Ford Expedition with 41K on the odometer.  The vehicle was pretty clean, but since I plan on keeping it for a long time I thought I'd  do an Auto Rx (ARX) cleaning of the crankcase, transmission and power steering unit.  I had used ARX a few years go and it impressed  me enough that I bought my Dad a couple bottles for his Odyssey. He too became a fan.

Anyway, prior to adding the ARX, I examined all three fluids. They were all pretty clean. I added ARX according to the application instructions.  About 1000 miles into the cleaning I examined the fluids. Nothing spectacular in the crankcase, but the transmission and power steering fluids had quickly gotten quite dirty. ARX did its job! I had the transmission power flushed and the Expy is now shifting incredibly smooth and precisely.  The power steering fluid was also completely changed and a synthetic installed. It too feels much more smooth and responsive. wink

As I Google up ARX on the net, I see many derogatory claims made against it and other reputable products. All give the same lame comments-  "today's oil, fuel and fluids are so well formulated, no additive products are necessary."

Such pooled ignorance is mind boggling. no Maybe these folks get new vehicles every 2 or three years and never get to the point of needing to do a cleaning, but most folks should recall that poor engine designs, like Toyota's 3.3L from the late 90s, and others can be  sludge monsters.
