Auto Rx in a Tractor need info

I am looking at auto rx'ing a tractor. Its a small kubota diesel non turbo charged. It has no problems and runs good. The hours are 260 but the tractor is 20 years old..... I dont suspect on putting lots of hours on the tractor so what would be a good run of hours to use for clean and rinse phase. Also on bitogf they claimed my non turbo diesel wouldnt make enough heat to justify it.  What is the opinion here, I think that forum has a new rash of uninformed who share opinions without knowing....

If I recall correctly, Frank has recommended 50 hours in a full time hour meter situation there the normal interval would be 150 hours. Your service is obviously much less intense.

Rich or Frank can overrule this, but I think given your lower oil temps and protracted time line, I'd do the Fast Track application (double the dose) for your normal interval. If this was a classic or otherwise "Sunday driver" it would be the one you would use. You're averaging 13 hours/year.

The major benefit in the ring packs should be easily attainable.

Why not come back with sump size and displacement information in case they choose to comment?

I have riding mower it has a 12HP Briggs/Stratton engine and holds 1 quart of oil. 1oz of Auto-RX works for me run for 12 or 14 hours dump oil put new in. One thing I found out real quick is you dont want to add extra ARX as it will foul the plug it cleaned my engine plus stopped the oil burning that was over a year ago and I still put about 1/2oz ARX in at every oil change. Good luck if you need anything else or have questions please feel free to email me.

I would put in one bottle with non-synthetic 15W-40 for the 40 hours or so. Then change that oil and filter out for another sump full of non-synthetic 15W-40. This would simplify things.

You could use as little as 8 oz for the cleaning cycle, then after the rinse cycle is complete, use the remaining 4 oz as a follow up maintenance dose for that 3rd oil change, using any oil of your choice at that time. That would require you to use a clean container to measure out the 8 oz for the clean cycle, which complicates the operation slightly.

Run the full bottle in there until the end of summer or fall (20-30 hours?), then change the oil and filter.

I don't think he was implying your engine has spark plugs, just giving his experience with his small engine.  Or he may have missed the "diesel" part of your post.

No reason not to leave it in the full or near the full season.  Most of the benefits will be on the front end in terms of any ring deposits.  The rest of the dwell time will work on the cooler formations in the forced circulation area.
