I have an air cooled single cylinder Kholer 4 stroke engine that has no oil filter. Can you use Auto_RX in this type of engine. If so, how much would I use and for how long before changing the oil.

It's not an exact science, but an ounce or two per quart of oil for 10-15 hrs or longer if desired. Someone who knows more about this application can perhaps elaborate...or set me straight. How many hours of use does this engine see for one season?

And yes, you can use ARX safely and effectively in this engine.  The biggest benefit should be better ring sealing and resulting compression/pwr.

I have used ARX in 12HP Briggs&Strattion riding mower with a 1 quart oil capacity and with great success I had blue smoke which indicates rings sticking or carbon build up I was able to prolong purchasing a new mower for 3 years. I got greedy and used more than 2oz of ARX and fouled the plug I would stick to 2oz per quart run for 10 to 15 hours drain and refill and you are good to go.

Air cooled engines have the advantage of ample heat to allow Auto-Rx to work in a short(er) amount of time. Warm up isn't the same as a water cooled gas or diesel. The oil is a substantial cooling medium. The internals tend to get coated, which forms an insulating layer.

Without hour meters to define usage, I'd probably go half of the OEM recommended interval for the cleaning and the remainder for the rinse. I think that a 1/2oz per oil change would work for a maintenance dose. One bottle should last you a lifetime for that engine.

I have run a cleaning application in my single cylinder Kholer motor in my JD lawn tractor. Mine has a pressurized oiling system with a screw on oil filter. I love this little motor.
I ran the cleaning cycle for a 25 hour oci. Call me a nut but I run run a 1 oz. maintenance dose with each oil change now. Also have had excellent results in Briggs powered push mowers. These of coarse are just splash fed.

Taken care of, lawn mower motors will far outlast the rest of the mower.
