My Rav4 engine is sludged, so I had the local Toyota dealer clean the oil pan, the oil uptake tube, and the oil screen. After this service the oil light did not come on again while I drove my vehicle home. Got home and added 12 oz of Auto RX to my engine, and the oil warning light illuminated intantly. Any ideas as to why this happened?
Sorry your post did not get quicker answer. If you had read the FAQ located on the Auto-Rx Web Site you would have found your answer.
Why does my engine light come on? On some engines, internal sensors for the engine light. oil light, and temperature gage will act in an erratic manner during the cleaning phase. Do not be alarmed as Auto-Rx is removing sludge found on sensors but is NOT INDICATIVE OF A PROBLEM. Gauges will return to normal operating condition after the rinse phase.
THX, but leaving it to the potential purchaser of AutoRX the responsibility to ferret out such imporrtant information in the FAQ's is unacceptable. Because the oil warning lite comin on is such an alarming and totally unexpected result in the circumstances I described, such a possibility should be boldly noted in the body of your product description.
