I dumped a bottle of ARX in my 06 Mustang GT and ran it for 3K. (Car now has 40K on it.)

I plan to run a 5K rinse, then do a maintenence dose.

Was/is that a smart move? I don't think it will hurt. (I've had that bottle for years.)

And what's the deal? This seems to be the only place to admit using/liking the product without being exposed to c3po/pontiac fan/big bear's anti arx crusade.

I would consider changing out that filter 2500 miles into the rinse phase. Keep us posted. Auto-Rx is just a metal cleaner it makes no changes to your oil viscosiy. The big change is when your finished your ARX Treatment oil will be able to lubricate every nook & cranny in your engine, thats is going to be a positive performance and mpg effect.

Another positive (this does not get talked aqbout enough IMO) Engine Internal Oil Lubricated Parts Wear Factor. ARX can't repair existing wear HOWEVER now that oil can lubricate every nook & cranny this will cause altering of the effects of wear.

Oil can't lubricate through dirt, contaminants, third party abrasives or sludge it just skips to the next spot it can find some area of clean metal.

Keep us posted.

Changing the filter, good idea.

When I bought it in April, it had just north of 29K, so I suspect it was a weekend driver for the last owner. (Wish I could do that..)

Almost all of my driving is highway, so I'm pretty sure the oil gets to operating temp.
