It’s been a good 7 months since I wrote in but I thought I’d let you know that Auto-RX eliminated my oil blow-by in my OM617 equipped Mercedes 300D. Needless to say, I’m very impressed and pleasantly surprised. The oil cap is still as can be and there is no vapor visible anymore. To add to the good news, my slight oil leak has also completely stopped.
I’m guessing I caught the problem before the seals went beyond repair. Can’t tell you how happy I am - I hope you are able to restore life into many other Classic Mercedes Diesels as well.
Aviv here. This was my email sent to Frank/ Rich around 5 years ago. The OM617 5 cylinder motor is doing just fine and remains entirely blowby and leak free. For Classic vehicle owners, I highly recommend switching to Liqui Moly's MOS2 engine oil after a full 2 bottle ARX treatment to gain the benefits of reduced friction that this German oil delivers thanks to it's MOS2 additive.
I've recently purchased another diesel Mercedes, a 1976 240D, equipped with an OM616 4 cylinder motor, also with severe engine blowby. So far, I've driven around 2000 miles with ARX Plus in it with zero improvement. I will change the oil now and hope that the rinse phase helps. Any advice is welcome!
