No Auto-Rx will get on the metal of your oil lubricating parts within 150 miles . Your not overfilling your oil reserve since Auto-Rx contains no solvents or petrolueum by products. Oil is a carrier for Auto-Rx
Frank. Does Auto-RX work when the engine is not running? I ask because since it is an ester and coats the metal, does it dissolve sludge etc. from the metal?
Auto-Rx only cleans with engine temperature and oil flow. It is a slow methodical cleaner, which means that it is impossible to chunk off deposits, which might cause problems. Instead deposits are gradually dissolved.
pw01 Overfilled with what ? not oil .not solvents. Auto-Rx is eco;ogical based chemistry and oil is just a carrier. Auto-Rx can't change your oil.s chemistry or viscosity. Usually takes about 150 miles for Auto-Rx to get on the metal and at that point your dip stick will be reading oil again. Did you read the FAQ ?
As I recal my engine mechanic class (30 some years ago) the concern with over-filiing is that the crankshaft will keep splashing/stirring the ol risking foaming of the oil.
30 years ago your mrechanic was talking about non synthetic oil and not Auto-Rx. Foaming is caused by chemistrys that do not mix well as far as i know.
