I thought this was a very good article by the inventor of Auto-Rx and just wanted to share it with you.

Oil can't lubricate through dirt.etc so you have drag/friction. Oil additives just the same. Clean metal allows any oil to lubricate every nook & cranny. Now you have no drag/friction so engine needs less gas to perform its tasks.

A clean engine takes the load off the converter, Engine benefits by using less gas to perform its tasks.

Yeoch. We can all use better gas mileage these days.  I just paid $3.15 for regular.furious

The real fuel savings will be on applications of vehicles with carboned up ring packs. A little loss in ring sealing can mean a fairly hefty loss in economy or performance, which ever your right foot prefers. The other thing that poor ring sealing promotes is the motor processing a bunch more blow by gases. Trust me cyling back half burned fuel vapors back through the intake system is an ugly thing. For one thing its fuel value is nil. And secondly it just creates more deposits throughout the intake system.

Not to mention excess blow-by can really cream your oil and shorten its life if it isn't properly vented. Then you could be looking at sludge and varnish that will have all sorts of nasty effects on your engine, none of which will increase fuel mileage.

Well I am off for a short 300 mile road trip and starting the cleaning phase. I will post results in a month. 2003 Hemi Ram 1500 4x4 quad cab, 36000 miles.
