Still holding up strong!

This was my first experience about a year ago-...

I first heard about this stuff on Bobstheoilguy.  So I decided to give this stuff a shot on an old V8 with well over 150k on the motor.  I put one bottle of Autorx and 6 qts of fresh dyno oil in my crankcase (plus new filter) and this is what the oil was looking like after 400 miles on the Autorx.

I got kinda nervous because there was little black soot spots in there so I decided to change the oil even though there was only 400 miles on it.  I had previously (constantly) checked the oil and it was very clear until about 100 miles, then the cleaning started and the oil darkened.  After 400 miles this is what the oil looked like-

The oil in the filter was even blacker thanks to the ADBV (Valve).

Despite the oil being black and containing some soot type particles, the filter material was not clogged after 400 miles.  The floor was a mess from changing my own oil, but it was a great use for my old MF towels that have been laying around forever, cleaned the oil right up.

Impressions
I am blown away from the results I recieved from Autorx.  You can see the engine results above but that isn't even the good part of this story.  All week I have been calling transmission shops and where I live it runs $3500 to rebuild my tranny with all the updates.  I called everyone in the book and even Aamco said the last two identical transmissions to mine they did were $3500 bucks.  My symptoms were that when I hit the gas the motor whinned just fine but the vehicle wouldn't hardly move.  It took forever to shift and when it finally shifted it was rough.  In other words my transmission was slipping.  So I was looking for a good transmission treatment to see if it could help.

I was looking at Bobstheoilguy's site and saw that Autorx could be used in transmissions too.  The problem was that the last yahoo that filled my tranny oil over filled it so I had to be careful on putting anymore fluid in there.  I started putting 2oz incraments in my transmission dipstick hole with the little injector thing you see in my very first picture next to the Autorx bottle.  The first two ounces had no noticable difference.  I put 2 more ounces in the next day and my transmission was FIXED!  When I hit the gas I frickin boogy, and the thing shifts smoothly.  I added another 2 ounces for good measure and now I'm going to drive it for a while and drop the pan and change the fluid and filter.

I may have to change the transmission soon because I'm abusing the hell out of it, it's fun to punch it and actually move.  I cannot believe how well Autorx worked in my motor and tranny!  If I was working out of a shop I would be adding this stuff to my options for customers, it would be a great addition to any detailing shop.  I would give this stuff my highest recommendation based on what I know and my results.

What I don't know
I have no idea about long term results in a motor.  I have literally only had it in my trans for a couple days so I have no idea about longevity in a tranny either.  I do know so far Autorx saved me 3500 bucks because I was days away from putting it in the shop for a trans rebuild.  I do like the fact it works slower than an engine flush, makes me think this stuff doesn't have harsh detergents like those type's of products which can be bad for your internal parts.

Mistakes
I should have went longer before changing the oil.  I am doing a second cleaning cycle, but to make it worth all the effort and expense of doing 3 oil changes in 3k miles, I think I should have let it clean more to get my money's worth.  Left and right thumb up for Autorx-:bigthumb:....

Well, I am completed with two Autorx applications on two older vehicles, and there is a huge difference in the motors.  It's been about 4 months since adding any arx and the oil is still very clean looking on both dip sticks.  I'd swear the oil is acting like it would in a brand new car, compared to the blackness which I was getting earlier.  I'm NOT and expert, but this sounds good to me.  I'm hooked on the stuff forever!

An amazing revival to the slipping trans. But really when you come down to it, the use of the product sooner would have eliminated you having to use the product as a last ditch effort.
Most automatic transmissions should be serviced every 30K. For the use of a half abottle of ARX or 12 bucks it is advised to run the cleaning cycle at 29K. This way far more contaminants will be drained or purged during the fluid change. The cost of running the cleaning cycle in the transmission extended over 30,000 miles is $0.0004/mile. Very affordable.

As far as long term on a motor, there is no comparison. Engines are exposed to much more contamination than a transmission. Just think of the volume of air that passes through the system as intake and exhaust. Then look at the volume of gasoline or diesel fuel that is vaporized and combusted. A tansmission never gets any of this. Therefor the long term effect of cleaning motors is needed to a much greater extent.

Now that I've found ARX I cannot ever think of a reason not to use it in a gas engine and a transmission. However, I will never do an ARX treatment again period. For me it's maintenance dose from day one. There is too much evidence that shows how effective Maintenance doses are. If you add a couple ounces every oil change and have decent OCI's, I garunteee you will never have a sludge problem.

Did you get any abnormal noise from the engine while using it? How long has the engine oil been staying clean since you have used it?

No unusualy noise at all. I think it was last Oct or Nov that I finished my apps, it's clean like new since then. I moved in Dec and I know I haven't touched them since then.

I just bought a 2001 Miata with 130000 Miles on it for hwy travel to and from work to keep miles off my new Avalanche. How does this work in a 4 cyl?

The type of engine makes no difference. With 130,000 miles on that new to you Miata I can't help but think that a couple of ARX treatments will make it run even better.

If you ask me I think it's more important to use in 4 and 6 cylinder motors because it's my belief and opinion that they have more sludge problems in general than the big v8's. Not only do they create sludge, but they have a harder time working correctly when the get sludge, especially 4 cyl's.
