posted on bitog but figured i would check opinions here. i have an old generator with 3hp b&s engine from the late 60's-early 70's i intend to treat it with auto rx.need to know how many hours to run it for each cycle. it does not appear to consume oil but i figure it cant hurt to treat it.
In light that this unit is fairly old with no filtration, I would do a cleaning with fresh oil for 5-7 hours of running time. Then dump it and rinse. What the oil during the rinse phase and use your best judgement on when to dump the rinse oil. I would think that the rinse oil will be pretty dirty in 10-12 hours of operation. What is the recommended drain interval on this unit?
