I'm the crazy Amsoil dealer who recommends AutoRx

Numerous times people have asked me about what to do prior to switching to Amsoil on their 50K mile plus engines. I inevitably list their options ranging from doing nothing, Amsoil engine flush, a dino only flush......but when it comes down to it, the best option remains AutoRx. Most people balk at the time frame and miles, but realize that doing things right means not always using the instant fix.

What do I get out of it? I certainly don't sell AutoRx. I just point them to the site to purchase it. What I get is a customer starting Amsoil with a clean engine. This is huge.....for Amsoil product satisfaction. chew.gif  teamwork.gif

There is an old saying "you get what you pay for". ARX is certainly one of those products that gives you your money's worth.

I see what you are saying Pablo. Why put a great oil like Amsoil into a filth bucket. Do the ARX cleaning first, to appreciate the quality of your product.

I would like to add that I tried Amsoil for the first time years ago on my high mileage (150k miles) 3.8 Lesabre that probably could have benefitted from engine flush or an ARX treatment or 2. I was skeptical about the flush since I previously had seen a badly sludged engine flushed with some other flush and then subsequently choked up the pickup screen and wiped out the pump and bearings. Now I wish I would have flushed the engine first because when the higher detergency Amsoil got in there it must dirtied up the oil sooner, because the consumption rate went up considerably after about 6 months and 10k miles of use. I am now in agreement with Pablo after experiencing the benefits of ARX, that it is probably the best and most thorough way to go before introducing a higher detergency synthetic oil into any engine with significant miles on it. There's no sense in putting a high dollar syn oil into an engine and having to run several short oil change intervals while it does some minimal cleaning at best. I beleive you'll be $$ ahead to go with 1 or 2 ARX treatments instead, and get a much cleaner engine as well.
