Auto RX in a new engine
Permalink

I've got a 06 Ford Fusion 2.3L with 8500 miles on it.  Would it be alright to go with a preventative treatment of Auto RX?  I'm looking to be proactive rather than reactive and I'm curious if this is something that will be detrimental to my new engine or just be a waste of money.

Thanks.

I can only tell you what my plan is and I have a brand new truck. I plan on doing one oil change with Dyno oil after 1k miles. driving on that for say another 2k or so. Then from that point on, use Mobil one Synthetic and 3 ounces of Autorx and hopefully never have to do a clean phase, change my oil every 5k. Will it work? Dunno. I can only tell you to see my post one year ARX thread. All of the readings, UOA's and my personal experience tells me this stuff is good for my engine. Nobody can convince me not to use this stuff. No shelf life, expiration, one bottle is 4 maintence doses or lasts 4 oil changes. A few (5) bottles of Autorx will last 100k miles of maintence doses on a new car.

What arx will do =IS KEEP YOUR CAR FREE FROM SLUDGE AND DO IT SAFELY PERIOD. That in itself will have many benefits by itself. Maybe your car wont fall off in MPG like it tends to do with older car that get backed up systems because of oil clogging them. Maybe you wont get seal leaks that you normally would have if you had a sludge up engine with poor oil flow. Most importantly, you probably will never get hot spots like you do in a sludged up engine. Anyhow, I am confident in the chemistry because I saw how it worked on two old vehicles, it cleans slowly and safely.

From what I've seen, and researched, I'd start the maintenance dose in a new car

Do you plan to do the maint doses with the Mobile 1 synthetic?  Is that still effective?  I guess it's better than nothing.

Yes, personally I always believe from what I've read that Autorx will work with synthetics, it just takes longer. This has been the position of Autorx ever since I learned about it and it's perfect for maintenance dosing.  Furthermore, Jags test proved that even when added to Mobil one cleaning (or protection from deposits) still does take effect.  The hardest screws are going to say his test is flawed, but nobody has ever proving to me that Autorx will not work in Mobil 1.  We already know that Autorx is very effective in group 4 synthetics, and it's my personal belief it's good in your higher quality synthetics until someone proves it to my satisfaction it isn't.

Notice the mobil one penny (M) by itself, and the Mobil 1 plus Autorx (MA).  Yes, that is not an engine but it is relevant in my opinion.  There is no proof Autorx doesn't work with mobil 1.  I believe if I do what i planned, that I will never have any appreciable sludge in my engine, but I don't think i will be able to prove that for twenty years as my truck is new.

Well, I've got 8,500 miles on my 2.3L 06 Ford Fusion. Right now I'm running Valv SynPower and have been so for about 700 miles. This is my first run of synthetic after running MC syn blend for the first 7800. I have a five quart jug of PP and I intend to use that. After that, I'm going to run Amsoil XL 5W-20 in this engine for 5K oil changes (still under warranty).

So I'd be ok with running a maintenance dose with say, every other oil change with the Amsoil?

I think you'll get benefit from doing that.

So it seems to be likely that the maintenance dose will be beneficial with Mobil 1
