My Dad and I have identical 04 Mercury's, I run the Maintenance Dose, he does not, I did an oil change on both vehicles yesterday, my oil came out darker and my oil filter was heavier than his, also my tail pipes are spotless, whereas my Dad's has some black residue, I run my finger at the end of the tailpipes on mine and no residue on my fingers, after doing the same thing with my finger on my Dad's tailpipe, I had to go inside and wash my hands, this is proof that even engines with less than 25K can benefit from a Maintenance Dose of Auto-RX, these are just my observations, keep up the good work Frank.
Sounds like you must be burning your fuel more efficiently than you Dad, based on tailpipe deposits. Sounds also like your fortified oil is carrying potential deposits to the filter, and your Dad's is not.
Brent, Do you live in a state with vehicle emission inspections? If so it would be interesting to see the results of each.
Yes, I do, are vehicles get tested every 2 years, but they plug into the cars computer to see if there are any codes, I do not think it is like the way it was on my El Camino where they showed the reults for the 3 categories, will have to look at my emissions from last year but I am guessing there will be no numbers, just telling you the car passed.
