I worried about where some members might go with this information that I posted. This was a test run in coordination with Frank, not just a shot in the dark.

I think it was risky and that's why I ran so much oil and so many filters through the rinse phase. I don't think the average owner would go to this time and expense for a car. They would just sell it and move on. I also conducted this test without any tear down or physical removal of sludge before the start. I do not think that the general public has the facilities available to evaluate the test progress. We have a lift and a boroscope for looking inside and we monitored oil filter performance by temperature. When the filter temp did not come up as expected we changed it. I do not recommend repeating this test. This car was on a lift at least twice a week.
Here is my recommendation. Follow the instructions on the web site. They may be more current than the bottle. Watch for new info from Frank on application instructions. We are in a unique position with this product. We have the founder and designer's ear and he has ours. The instructions are being updated as his experience and his testing and chemists guides him. This is a product driven by product performance and not a marketing plan.
Please read my post for information to allow you to follow some of our testing of Auto-Rx. These experiments result in guided updates to the application instructions. If we (not you the general public) don't push the product beyond it's normal use we do not get a good idea of how it performs. We are like the test pilots. If we crash it's on us. We do this so that you get the best value from Auto-Rx. The Auto-Rx guarantee does not apply if you don't follow the current instructions.
You can expect an update from our testing on the maintenance dose. It will be coming from Frank very soon. I guess since you have read this far I can give you a peek. We are finding that the maintenance dose should be upped to 4 ounces, but wait for the official word from Frank.
Here is my take on the product. Follow the instructions and consider the maintenance dose to have been under promoted. As testing continues the maintenance dose appears to be the real answer to keeping you engine in good shape for a long time.
