I just changed my oil tonite after 3000 miles on my 1st Maintenance Dose, when I had checked the oil on the dipstick it was clean, but when I changed the oil it was a dark gold, dark brown combination, maybe the Maintenance Dose of Auto-Rx or maybe some crud turned into liquid, the other interesting thing was how fast the oil drained out of the engine, the oil filter was very light, and this is the 1st time that when I went to take my Filtermag off it came off very easily which leads me to believe no metal floating around engine and that oil is getting everywhere it needs too so hardly any wear, these are just my unscientific thoughts, when I poured the new oil in I could here it pouring down into the engine, very interesting, this oil that was drained tonite was the darkest ever which proves how important the Maintenance Dose is because cleaning is still going on and will always be going on too a certain extent, I feel the Maintenance Dose is the heart of this program and in order to keep the results you have obtained in the Clean and Rinse Phases you must keep doing the Maintenance Dose or your old problems will come back, I will take the car for a drive tommorow and let everyone know how the car is running.
I drove the car around today and it is running great, had too adjust the choke as the weather is getting warmer up here, hopefully my oil filter issues are behind now, I think the reasoning for the color of the used oil being a brownish gold color was that Auto-Rx turned it that color because there was probably nothing more to clean but I think that it is good to have in there as a Maintenance Dose to prevent the old problems from coming back, I plan on dropping the transmission pan in another week or so to see if I have to clean it, I feel some cleaning is still going on because it takes a long time to get the Auto-Rx out as well as anything that may be floating around because it has been cleaned off the internals of the transmission.
I do believe your motor oil filters should be a thing of the past. By running the maintenance dose, you should not have any contaminants left to be deposited on the internals. Should be a complete drain.
With regards to the Automatic Trans, the pan may not show the whole story. Alot of contaminants will build inside the torque convertor, which can't be seen by a pan inspection.
Richone, I have gone through about 34 quarts of transmission fluid, meaning after I did my home T-Tech I have drained the fluid a few more tomes and it has been less of a dark red color each time, could this mean that cleaning is still going on. The trans is shifting great and running cooler, could also be the Derale Transmission pan that I put on that has cooling tubes on the bottom of the pan, will Auto-Rx eventually get all of the junk out of my torque converter, any thoughts please let me know.
