Won a 1994 Ford Granada 2.9i V6 12valves 145B.H.P. with 84K on the clock from e-Bay (U.K.) winner.gif

A train journey from North West to the Midland (U.K.) to meet the 2nd owner who had it for over ten years nod.gif and is regularly serviced by his local Ford garage number1.gif

Drove 100 miles home, nothing to report as it's well kept with a bit of overdued engine oil change popcorn.gif

10/04/08 & 11/04/08
So, have some bottles of Auto-RX in the shed, but like I usually do is drain out the old engine oil and leave it like that overnight and remove the Oil Filter in the morning then top up with Engine Oil Flush Out 0W20 & a clean cheap Oil Filter, after a 20 minutes ticking over on idle and the engine is in correct temperture, slowly I add in the BG Quick Clean letting it continuing ticking over on idle for extra 15 minutes.

The tappets noise is sounding a lot quietier now, but I know it is not clean or is 100% free from carbon/sludge/tar, so have brought a Mineral 10W/30 - I always buy the group III 5W/30 Full Synthetic for our other Granadas.

Anyway, as I type this now, it is draining out until tomorrow morning I will remove the Oil Filter and put on another clean cheap Oil Filter, then topping up the 10W/30 Mineral Engine Oil Filter & a bottle of Auto-RX - I am planning doing the Basic Application.

Took off the yesterday's Oil Filter, it shows like tar quickly running out and as usually would do a 2nd Engine Oil Flush Out 0W/20, but have decided not to, so topped up with Mineral 10W/30 with Ford's own Oil Filter fitted on, ran the engine on tick over until warm then slowly poured the whole bottle of Auto- RX and left the engine running on idle for more than half an hour, so far so good.

Hopefully tomorrow I am planning to remove the old A.T.F. in the Power Steering system and renew with A.T.F. plus half a bottle of Auto-RX leaving the other half for the Automatic Transmission - that is for another time.

Further testing in Liverpool

Hi Frank,

I continue to have success with every application of Auto-RX,

My latest area of (Shall we say) Targeted Awareness is/are the Mini club's here in the UK,

I find the people who have Mini's, use these cars for fun, but also have other cars in the family that are the daily used vehicles, so when ever the Mini needs any maintenance or repairs of any kind, you will find that it will receive the best treatment, These are dedicated and very meticulous DIY experts. I call them experts because this is what they are, after working on these cars for 25-30 years,, they know everything about them, so I am slowly contacting the clubs and making the owners "Aware" of the potential benefits of Auto-RX,

I find the product sells better by word of mouth as opposed to any advertisement, people need some one or something to come back to and report the changes or benefits they have experienced,, and "thats exactly what they do"

Most Mini's do not have a great deal of straight line speed, but I believe there is not another car in the world that could stay with a Mini through any given series of twisting lanes or bends,, and for the owners , this is where the fun is.

I was shocked to see this as Liverpool is only 'across the water' from were I am!! spin.gif

Having re-read throught-out on this Forum and realised that the original thought of doing the Basic Application isn't the correct one, so will be doing the Heavy Sludge Application with second treatment.

I think you are a very educated consumer based on reading and understanding the Auto-Rx web site and what the product has to offer. Keep us posted on the results of your applications with this Granada.

Drained & used the sucking pump out the worn dirty A.T.F. from the Power Steering system, but it was pass low on level anyway.
Re-used the empty Auto-RX bottle from yesterday, open another bottle of Auto-RX and filled up about just over a quarter, then poured in the Power Steering reservoir, left it to drip empty, topped up with Mineral A.T.F. only took over half of a one litre bottle, put Power Steering's top back on & started the engine, noticed it was quietier than before, left it running on idle for half an hour, looked good so far.
Will use the less of 3/4 left over of Auto-RX for the Automatic Gearbox, but that is another time.

Took the car to Chester Automatic Transmission Centre for T-Tech flush, explained about the Auto-RX product..."Mmmm...." they said, so what was done they left the seals in, cleaned & re-use the Filter, but had to replace the Modulator and Speedometer Cable then filled 9 Ltr of Mineral A.T.F.
Drove home and put in the remaining 3/4 of Auto-RX in with the engine ticking over and Auto-Gear Stick moving up & down few times until smooth change, looking promises so far!

The Axle is next after have done some re-search.

In Ford Granada Handbook diving at constant 56mph (Automatic) = 38.2  - 38.6 was showing on the Fuel Computer for many miles, it's like using Auto-RX gives you free petrol!  biggrin
