A little bit of background on the car. It is a 1995 Lexus Gs300 which was purchased with 136000 miles, the tranny fluid was pitch black. The car now has 165000. Before I tried auto rx, I did 3 drain and fills, so that the color of the fluid would change from black to red atleast.  Here are the details

Instead of adding 6oz, I added 5oz, I miscalculated it somehow. The car also had lucas transmission fix in it, so instead of running it the 1500miles, I ran it around 1700 miles before I did the T-Tech Flush. The flush was done with Amsoil Fluid.

The problem that I would have was the hard 1-2 shift and the REAL hard down shift in slow traffic.

Well, after the amsoil and auto rx flush, a few things have changed. The 1-2 hard shift still remians, the real hard down shift in slow traffic comes back occasionally.
One other thing I noted was this, there was not a BIG difference after the flush. I am not sure why this was so.

Questions? Comments?

Just use plain Mineral A.T.F. with Auto-RX and nothing else, let it do the job throughly, but Auto-RX cannot repair any broken parts....some vehicle have air vacuum pipe for the changing gears and some are electric, check these that are in good conditions.

HTH.

I was under the impression that once the auto rx process was complete one could use synthetic fluid. Is this true?

A couple of things, with the fluid so dark it may be too late for this transmission, I am not an expert but that is my opinion, when they did the T-Tech did they change the filter, how much transmission fluid did they flush out meaning how many quarts of Amsoil were used, the problem could be that you used 5 ounces, another thing when I changed my fluid and dropped the pan I had a new pan so I did not have to clean the old 1, my trans pan had a coating of slimey grit on the bottom of the pan, if they did not drop the pan there could still be some junk in there, I did not do the T-Tech which would have required me to bring 12 quarts of fluid, I drained 6 quarts of fluid 6 times, so I went through 36 quarts, even with a T-Tech cleaning is still going on, here is an example, drained fluid 1st time it was a dark burgundy color, 2nd time same color, this after 12 quarts, 3rd time through 6 th time it got lighter each time meaning a brighter red color, you have not gotten everything out of your transmission, when you do a T-Tech it does not get everything out because the machine is hooked up too your cooler lines, when trans fluid enters the pan it goes in 2 directions, half goes too the cooler and the other half goes to the torque converter, my suggestion would be too drain some more fluid out in a couple of days or so, I bet that it will still be slightly dark, keep doing this until the fluid looks like a bright red color, each time I drained my fluid the car shifted better and better, where did you get the T-Tech done, was there already fluid in there from the last guy that had his fluid changed, meaning whatever fluid the guy before you put in his transmission, do not look at the trans dipstick too see how the color of the fluid is it can be misleading, each time I went to drain the trans fluid the color on the dipstick was red but what came out of the pan was dark.

Yes, once mine is done after T-Tech, Full Synthetic A.T.F. will be going in the Auto-Box. smile

Did you reset the ECU after the flush? This is important anytime you do a flush. I learned this from UnDummy over on BITOG. I think it resets the shift solenoids to factory default settings. He says to make sure you leave the negative battery terminal unattached over night, not just for 30 minutes to an hour like most think.
