I started running AutoRx back in March. Since then I have driven around 2000 miles (a lot of me). My shortest trip is still 20 miles to the store and back.
After 2000 miles, my oil is definitely more Oil than gas - last time my oil was VERY thin at 2k after the change and smelled of gas. There is still a gassy smell, but not near as bad as before. Again, this is confirmed by there being at thicker consistency (in warmer weather). My PCV system also doesn't have as much oil in it.
Gas mileage is on the way up. I'm getting 26 almost 27 now - which isn't bad considering I had at least 400 miles with the car FULLY loaded ... I mean so loaded there was no travel in the rear springs. The tanks I was doing the hauling I got 27mpg while travelling on the hilly backroads.
I'm thinking about changing the oil filter in a few days just to see how much crap is in there (i dont actually change my own oil ... I change others' oil).
Glad to hear your results! I think I'd wait the last 500 miles before changing the filter -why wast one? Out of curiosity, what oil and filter combo are you using?

I'm using the Motorcraft filter and Motorcraft 5w20 dino oil - I have oil changes done at a dealer; too lady to change my own.
On a side note, it was 86 today with 90% humidity. Maybe I just happened to get it lucky and the car wasn't hot enough - or adding a half gallon of distilled water to the coolant tank - but it didn't ping today going up any hills :)
