I know nothing about chemistry or anything, but I do know I put GM EOS in the oil of my '86 Volkswagen.... I just wanted to make sure it was ok to put Auto-RX in there too, and make sure they didn't have a bad interaction or anything. Any info appreciated!
Auto-Rx would have no chemical effect on any additive, except to clean it out. Why would you have a need for this product if your engine is going to get full Auto-Rx treatment ? It would be more productive to use the Auto-Rx Maintenance Dose (after Auto-Rx treatment is done, with a good grade 111 oil) save money ,increase productivity. Frank Miller Invemtor
I use the EOS for the ZDDP content, it's a flat tappet motor and I don't want to take any chances. I only add a couple ounces to each oil change, and the car is primarily driven in autocrosses so I don't run a cat on it. The engine (well bottom end anyway) was pretty clean and low mileage (about 60,000) when I swapped it in, and I wanted to keep it that way with the Auto-Rx... So is the effect of the EOS going to be negated - like should I just do one or the other? As far as "cleaning out additives" goes.
