The fast lube drones select HM or regular ATF based on mileage. Since we are trying to restore low mileage performance to high mileage transmissions should we specify that non HM ATF be used to refill after the T-tech? Will the HM formula block additional ARX cleaning action?
I would stay away from this high mileage ATF, they put stuff in there to swell up the seals, you are already restoring low mileage performance to your transmission if you put in 6 ounces of Auto-Rx into your transmission and running it for 1000 miles and then drain as much as the transmission fluid as possible through a T-Tech procedure or a few drain and fills. This swelling of the seals with HM ATF is old school in my opinion, and I bet the high mileage ATF is more expensive. I have 360,000 miles on my transmission and I do not use any HM ATF, with the miles on my trans they would have to make EXTREMELY HM ATF. I did Auto-Rx in my trans at 350,000 miles and I have an 04 Mercury Marauder with 22,000 miles, guess which 1 shifts better, the 1 that I did Auto-Rx in. If I am wrong about HM ATF I am sure that others will chime in, good luck.
