Bill Heard Chevrolet in Plant City, the largest Chevy dealer in the country closed it down this week as well. Closed their other dealerships in the Tampa area as well. They state that they may start back up again when demand for new vehicles picks back up.

The Columbus-based company had five dealerships in Georgia and nine in six other states - Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Nevada, Tennessee and Texas. The Arizona dealership closed two weeks ago. According to a company statement released Wednesday through Atlanta public relations professional Alan Ulman, the closures will affect about 2,700 employees. Last year, the Sanford dealership paid $400,000 to settle consumer complaints. The state attorney general also forced the business to change its marketing practices.
