Which oil to use this time.

Hey guys in two days I should be getting auto-rx package. This time though I decided to change the oil by myself instead of going to the mechanic. I have 97 camry v6 with 105k miles on it. Which oil should I be using for it. at the mechanic I have always been using regular instead of syntetic. Please let me know what I should go with . Thanks

Stay with a non synthetic oil (no semi-synthetic- or high mileage ) use manufactures recommended viscosity.

Most important print out the Auto-Rx Application for your needs and follow it.

A good non synthetic oil is Castrol GTX or WalMart Super Tech.

You might find the oil weight Toyota recommends for your engine on your oil filler cap or a sticker on your hood. Most likely it is 5W-30.

Wal-Mart Super Tech is good because it does not have a robust additive package. You do not need an oil that is going to compete with Auto-Rx during the Clean and Rinse Phases. I feel that if you have an oil with a robust additive package it is going to take longer to see and feel results.

Make sure you stick with whatever weight oil your car is speced for, like Turbo Jim said it is probably 5W-30.
