I have a question about which regimen to follow. I have a 1999 intrepid with the infamous 2.7L engine. I'm pretty positive the engine is well into it's "choked with sludge, will lock up at any time" phase, but I also only drive it 2,000 to 3,000 miles a year, usually under 3 miles per trip.
Should I follow the high sludge dosage of 2oz per quart, or the low-use dosage of 3oz per quart? Should I do clean, rinse, clean, rinse or is the proper cycle clean, clean, rinse? Will it clean it out even quicker if I just ignore the directions completely and dump in 6oz per quart? (half joking on the last one)
Stay with the sludge and heavy sludge application Auto-Rx is a slow process and just make sure you keep the filter changed. Thank you for purchasing ARX.
B. Sludge application first change your motor oil and filter. Add 2 ounces of Auto-Rx® for each quart of oil your engine holds.
I would suggest every now and again that you drive the car for a half hour or so. Your short trips probably contribute to your sludged condition. I would also change out your PCV valve on a regular basis.
