i mean absolutely no disrespet here in anyway. im new to this until tonight i had no idea what this was. ok so ive got olds alero 3400 v6. 69k ive always used full synthetic lll or iv. only time i didnt was when i was doing what i called a cleaning phase. with either seafoam or mmo. ive always been particular to mmo because its very safe and been around awhile. its also safe to replace a quart of oil with this in your oil change which ive done a few times. my question is, whats the big difference with auto rx if ive always used a good oil changed before 3k on synthetic and clean periodically?

Are you trying to compare Auto-Rx (ARX) with Seafoam and MMO? If so there really is no comparison. When using either of those two products you can hope you have accomplished something. When using ARX you know you have, as the results with this product have been well documented.

Are you asking if there is a need to use ARX if you've used synthetic oil and normally change it every 3,000 miles? It all depends. ARX cannot solve a problem you do not have. I can only advise you to try it and see what kind of results you get. Many have seen improvements despite having used synthetic oil from day one.

Even if you don't have issues, your engine will benefit from ARX, I'd give it a try.

I am not going to mention those other additives, but auto-rx does many things, and it does so safely with out hurting any of your seals.

You may think you have a perfectly clean engine, but can you look into the ring packs, keep the rings clean and there is less chance of blowby or getting gas into your oil.

You may not be aware of this but many newer engines are made out of aluminum and have a special coating on the inside of the engine that cleaners with solvents will cause harm too.

There was a test done a few years ago on these so called oil additive cleaners using 2 small lawn mower engines, the engine that had just plain oil had half the wear of the engine that had the oil additive cleaner in it.

The test concluded that these so called products that cleaned the inside of your engine also kept oil off the internal parts and that is why there was more wear.

There have been many UOA's with auto-rx in the engine and the wear metals were lower than when there was no auto-rx in there.

Frank can probably elaborate on why auto-rx does not upset the host oil.

Good points, Brent.

The only thing I will add here is that, using Auto-Rx, you will get your engine clean inside where it counts the most, without risking a thing to yourself or your engine. The solvent type cleaners will clean some, but at what cost to your equipment and its seals, your health, and the environment? Per bottle Auto-Rx costs more than these other treatments, but you get a LOT more in my experience, without the potential bad side-effects. That's why I continue to use it in just about everything that has an engine.

Sounds like your engine is without issues and should work fine with the regular instructions posted by Frank on the main Auto-Rx website. It's really simple to follow.

What do you think of the Alero ? You say its a V-6 GM 3400 ? do you mean a 3.1 ? if so for maximum results follow the application.
