I just completed the rinse phase with ARX on a "04 Sebring with 2.7L engine with about 90K miles, 3 to 4K OCI. This engine was listed as a sludger up until '03 +/- when they changed the PCV system to correct the problem (so I am told).
I cut open the filter after the clean phase and the media looked "normal", no apparent goo buildup at all.
I just cut open the filter after the rinse phase and their is "hard" grit about the size of coffee grounds on the media. Maybe 20 to 30 pieces between each fold. The "grit" crumbles when rubbed between the fingers. I don't see any soft "goo" on the filter to speak of.
Normally this type of deposit found in the filter pleats would be the removal of hardened carbonacious deposits from the ring packs. Although I can say with 100% authority, I have seen it many times on motors with ring pack issues.
When I changed my fliter a little over half way through my clean cycle I drained it by sticking a screwdriver through the anti drain back valve before I threw it away.
I was shocked at all the little pieces of crud that came out of there.
