i have a 2003 dodge ram with a 4.7 ltr magnum engine it has 81000 mls on it.when i first start it i here a tapping in the engine after about 45 seconds to a minute it will go away however if i stick my head in the front fenderwell i can still here it. previous owner used penzoil 5w30 and changed it every 3000 mls. i have been told it is probably a lifter or tappet making the noise.will your product help plese reply.

If your tapping noise is a hydraulic lifter that is not doing its job because it has some contamination, then auto-rx will help and you should be able to get rid of this noise. It sure made a difference on my sludged-up chevy engine with about twice the mileage. I had one lifter that was tapping at cold starts especially and now is gone. If your tapping is a mechanical or wear issue, then auto-rx cannot replace missing metal-only new parts can. Before you go the repair route, a bottle of Auto-Rx would be an inexpensive way to try and get rid of this tapping sound. It should help. Regardless, your engine will benefit overall.

Buy a few bottles and follow the instructions.

I agree with bmwtechguy. Solved my lifter tick issue in my 4.8 liter Chevy. Mine did not tick immediately after cold start but would make noise roughly a minute after start up for a short period of time.

Auto-rx got rid of the lifter tap noise on my small block chevy, you probably have dirt in there that will get released during the rinse phase.
