Will T-Tec method clean the filter?

I added 6oz of Auto-Rx to my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix with 87,00 miles and after driving 1,018 miles,  I had the transmission flushed at a "trusted" local transmission shop, using the "t-tec" method.  No filter change.

Unbelievable results!

Prior to adding Auto-Rx, my transmission sometimes hesitated shifting, hard shifts etc.

Now, smoother shifting is no problem, the transmission performs excellent, some of the shifts are so smooth, I can't hardly feel them.

My son who owns a 2002 Chevrolet Venture Van with 150,000 miles has recently added the 6oz of Auto-Rx to his van's transmission. (after seeing my results)

His transmission seems to perform properly but, it is over due for a trans oil change.
The trans oil and filter has never been changed.

I know the "T-Tec" method removes most of the trans fluid including the fluid in the torque converter but, will it flush the filter or will he need to change his filter?

You are close Dad! It is a 2001 with original fluid (I believe) as it is very dirty but will be changed upon completion of the ARX tranny treatment! I believe another poster in a different thread said that the T-Tech method will clean the filter too. I'll update in a 1000 miles.

GM4EVER,,

Welcome to the forum the below infromation off the T-Tech web site this should help you.

T-TECH accumulates the flow of all the old ATF from transmission, drawing it into the patented fluid exchange cylinder. With the vehicle idling, the old ATF diverted to the T-TECH through the natural pressure of the Transmission pump causes an equal amount of new ATF to flow into the transmission

GM4EVER,

Do you have an update on the cleaning issue and the T-Tech method?

Daryl

No further updates on the filter issue.

Like I said earlier, after driving just over a 1000 miles with Auto-Rx, I had my transmission flushed using the T-Tech process.  I did not change the filter.

The transmission is shifting smoother now than when it was new.

Also, my son had his transmission flushed at a local shop using the T-Tech method but, he did ask for the filter to be changed.

My son told me, that he is very pleased with the performance of his  transmission after using Auto-Rx and the T-Tech flush.

Do you have the web address of the manufacturer of "T-Tech" ?

Brent,

Thank you for your suggestion, I have tried to "Google" for T-Tech company but, I got everything except the company website.

However, thanks to "BamZipPow", he left a link to the T-Tech site on the previous message.

The website address is;

www.t-techonline.com

Thanks,

GM4ever

The T-tec will not clean the filter in the transmission, only replace and flush all the fluid.  Remember, the filter in there is not a fine filter, and is on the suction side of the pump.  If your concern is that the filter could be overloaded and clog up, then don't concern yourself about that, because I have never seen that happen.  However, if your trans has 60k miles or more, then after the Auto-Rx has done it's job, it would be best to change the filter by dropping the pan, cleaning the pan and magnets and installing a new filter and gasket, if needed.  This will give you a more complete job and get out more debris that may have accumulated in the pan and filter itself.  Then do the T-tec or a less expensive DIY cooler line flush to get ALL the rest of the old fluid out.
