i am about to proceed to clean phase. this basically means oil change along with the oil filter and other tuneup/checkup activities.
by nature, i have the habit of removing the valve cover and the rockers after draining the oil, cleaning them with solvent as well as wiping the "wipable" areas of the cylinder head.
will this "habitual" cleaning activity that i do on the cylinder head interfere with the supposedly clean procedure of arx?
Yes it will Auto-Rx will see solvent as a contaminant and expend a lot of it's energy in cleaning that out of your engine instead of dirt contaminants.
There is nothing supposed about Auto-Rx Cleaning ability we have been doing it on all type of engines for over 7 yrs. If you follow the application as posted on the Auto-Rx Web Site your results will be as stated.

hi,
i think i made a mistake in my first post. what i am about to do is "rinse" phase NOT clean phase. will the cleaning of the head components affect the "rinse phase"?
I suggest that you run the rinse phase without solvent wiping the valve train. Some solvent is bound to enter the oil sump by your method of wiping compromizing the intergity of the oil. Just follow the application as written on the ARX site. If you feel the need to wipe the valve train with some solvent do it while as you drain the rinse oil. If this is a severely sludged motor a second application, cleaning phase followe d by the rinse phase, do so.
